Changes at IndyCar Mom

There have been recent changes at IndyCar Mom, and I have people asking me all the time, “Are you IndyCar Mom, or Open Wheel Mom?” I’d like to take a moment to answer that question for everyone today.

I am both!

Jill was the founder of IndyCar Mom, and she added Heather, Tanya and Christy. They had been blogging here for about 3 years before they invited me to join the crew a year and a half ago. The content of my solo blog site (OpenWheelMom) was merged into the IndyCar Mom.com at that time. All my old posts are here, they are just  in order of publish date.

Since the founding of IndyCar Mom, life has gotten hectic as it often does for Jill and the other Moms, and they have found it impossible to continue running and writing for the site, so the decision was made about 6 months ago to just go ahead and pass the site on to me, and me alone. Jill is helping me immensely in this learning process, as I have never been both an editor and writer before. I’ve had to learn how to tag my photos properly, how to use SEO tools to make sure the site stands out and is easy to find, and all kinds of other things I never had to think about. And there’s still SO much left for me to learn, but I love doing this, and I plan on continuing for a very, very long time. I have a mission, and I am passionate about it. Getting more families and children involved in IndyCar is critical for the continued success of the series. We have to bring in newer, younger fans!

So, you can call me IndyCar Mom, or OpenWheelMom, and I’ll answer to either with a smile. IndyCar Mom is the professional site-related Twitter Handle, and OpenWheelMom is for my personal side. (BTW you can find ICM on Instagram too!)

I truly hope you enjoy reading what I am writing, and trying to accomplish here, and of course, I am always open to suggestions. Are there things you and your family want to see? Things you like more than others? Please tweet at me, message me on the Facebook IndyCar Mom site, or  comment here and let me know, I want this site to be a true IndyCar Family Fan site, full of information and resources, in addition to the the fun I have sharing of your families stories and pictures.
