Can I just say how excited I am for next weekend, with the IFFFest, RevIndy and the GP of Indy! I’ll be attending all three events, but being a Volunteer at the IFFFest is probably the one I am looking most forward to, as both a parent and a fan! Of course Rev will be fun, after all what woman doesn’t like putting on a beautiful cocktail gown and heels (for a great cause to boot!), but you all know my heart is with the family fun in IndyCar! Both IFFFest and RevIndy are charity events, with proceeds going to their respective organizations.
INDY FAMILY FOUNDATION FESTIVAL ON MAIN SPONSORED BY FIRESTONE
The Indy Family Foundation Festival On Main Sponsored by Firestone is the first event for the weekend, scheduled on Friday, May 9 from 6-10pm on Main Street in Speedway Indiana.
It is the 2nd year for this Festival, and despite the rainy conditions last year, the event was a HUGE success. Tons of attractions and fun for the entire family, the IFFFest will have a Celebrity Dunk tank with THE ROBIN MILLER, James Hinchcliffe and others (I will be working the tank from 6-9 so come say hello and dunk these guys!) Sumo Suits, which Simon Pagenaud and Tristan Vautier donned last year, a fabulous Kid Zone with inflatable fun, a beer garden for the adults, live music, fireworks and of course, the IndyCar Drivers and their families will be out to enjoy the fun as well! It is free to get in, but make sure you bring cash for the attractions and beer garden!
The IFFFest is still in need of volunteers to work everything from set-up to tear down and all you need to do is REGISTER HERE and you will be contacted.
Proceeds from this event go towards the Indy Family Foundation, helping to support injured Drivers, Crew, Media and families in the IndyCar communitiy.
The inaugural RevIndy event is being held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 9 from 6:45pm (VIP) or 7:30pm(Gen) through Midnight. Proceeds from this Methodist Health Marquee event benefits IU Health programs such as Trauma, and the partnership that IU Health has with IMS to provide emergency medical treatment during the Month of May. Top celebrity chefs have paired up with IndyCar Drivers to create a tantalizing menu of delicious foods that attendees can sample. Live music will fill the air, and guests can enjoy the beauty of IMS under the stars. Tickets are still available at RevIndy and please note that Cocktail attire is required for the event. I will be attending with my dear friend Shay who is on Rev’s Social Media crew for the event. I’m sure I’ll be tweeting and sending out photos as well, but make sure you are following @Shayzen on Twitter!
GP of INDY
The capstone of the weekend is the highly anticipated GP of INDY taking place on Saturday, May 10 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It is the inaugural race, and the IndyCar community has been abuzz since it’s announcement. We’ve followed track construction, Driver testing and feedback and now it’s time to watch what’s sure to be an incredible race. Reserved seating and General Admission tickets are available, and one under 12 gets in free with each adult General Admission ticket purchased.
We’ll also be hosting another IndyFansTweetUp at some point in the weekend, but Pippa and I have to figure out her schedule first, so stay tuned and we’ll let you know the when and where ASAP!
That’s the brief rundown, thanks for reading and I’ll see YOU and your IndyCar loving families next weekend at the IFFFest, RevIndy and the GP of Indy!
